A feminine and fanciful jacket made from rectangular panels with triangular godets inserted between the panels to create a peplum from the waist.  The jacket can be worn open or buttoned, and a cross-over-and-tie version suitable for a blouse is also included in the pattern.  The back panel is flat, or for a more dramatic effect, a bustle-like option with center-back-godets is included.  Darts are included to accentuate the waist, but these may be left out.  The look varies greatly depending on the fabrics used.  Pattern includes all 6 sizes.

This pattern includes Kayla's unique seaming technique using a three-three rolled-hem edge done on a  serger and connected with multi-stitch zig-zag stitch.  If you don't have a serger, the pattern also includes traditional straight-stitch sewing directions as well.

Sizes XS to XXL

Create an elegant opera coat made from simple Modular Design elements, connected with Kayla's unique seam techniques as seen in Threads Magazine issues 98 and 117.  Pattern includes all 6 sizes plus easy instructions for further modification and detailed instructions for 4 seaming styles.  Sleeve options include kimono or dolman styles.  Choose a soft drapy fabric such as velvet, lightweight silk, or tayon for either a lines (reversible) or unlined garment.

Fabric requirements:
2 3/4 yards XS to 3 1/2 yards XXL; double for lined version.

Various sizes of rectangle panels, arranged in an asymmetrical design, connect to create the Angel Top.  Wide, loose sleeves can be connected or left open at the bottom.  Pattern includes 3 unique seaming techniques, lined or unlined options (plus one set of standard sewing guidelines).  For an evening look, use rayon, silks, velvets or other drapy fabrics.  Great for casual wear made with rayon or soft cotton.  Fabric combinations work well with this design.

Fabric requirements:  1 3/4 yard  XS to 2 1/2 yard XXL when using one fabric.  More is required when using multiple fabrics.

Simple to sew design with elegant results.  Top is made using vertical panels and kimono style sleeve.  Vest is made with 9 vertical panels and a kimono style lapel.  Pattern includes 3 unique seaming techniques, lined or unlined options (plus one set of standard sewing guidelines). For drapy effect, use rayon, silks, velvets, or other soft fabrics.  This is a great pattern to use for highlighting special one-of-a-king fabrics.

Flattering Asian inspired cross-over top,.  The ties extend from either side to the lapel ends and tie to ties from the side seams (at the ribs).  This way of fitting makes it easy to get a rather fitted garment without using darts or gathers.  The pattern is made of 9 panels, the front two cut for a cross-over neckline.  The dolman sleeves are optional, without them this makes a very unique vest.  Fabric suggestions range from soft floaty silks to corduroy or ethnic icats.

2 1/3 yds XS to 3 1/2 yds XXL

Versatility is what this pattern is all about.  A great combination with other Top and Jacket patterns.  Use silk for an elegant evening garment, linen for an easy wear daytime look, or even in cotton for a comfy pair of PJ's!  Easy construction, no side seams, soft elastic waist with two or three pleats for a comfortable and roomy, but stylish look.  Includes Japanese Cut (darted-he), Straight Leg, and Crop Pant variations.
